In Bad Blood when Liam told Natalie "I hope we never meet again", I thought he meant that he hoped she was never brought across so that he would never have to kill her. He is a vampire hunter after all, and he does know she is hanging out with Nick. I think when he said that he was actually saying that he hoped he was right about Nick.
