I was reading your comment on one of the second season episodes (Crazy Love), and you wondered if Janette liked having her blood drained. Well, in the first season, there was an episode about the suicide of an old vampire love of Nick's, and the flashbacks indicated that vampires share blood when they "have sex" (actually, you never know if they perform that act, or if the sharing of blood is enough). This exchange of blood also causes a sharing of memories, for the female vamp "recalled" some battles that Nick experienced as a Crusader, and Nick "sensed" the female vamp's desire for eventual death.
