Blackwing

About the episode. I was disappointed in it. It was nice to see Vachon, but he didn't do much, and this was a side of him I didn't expect to see. I thought he'd just run from place to place his whole life having fun and not getting involed.

I was also unclear on the whole killing instinct issue. I was also confused about his relationship with that that woman. Did he fall for her, or just use her?

I guess what I'm waiting for is interaction between the main characters. We've got this great set up that we can do a lot with. Tracy doesn't know about Nick, or that Nick knows about Vachon. Vachon may know about Nick, but I'll bet he doesn't know about Nat. If Nat and Vachon were to meet things could get interesting. Plus, now that LaCroix owns the Raven, there's a good chace he'll run into Tracy at some point. Also, what would happen if he ran into Nat again?

Have you noticed that Nat's character has been kind of annoying this season? It seems all she does is tell Nick that his acting like a jerk or a child. It's getting old. Why can't they just be two friends trying to solve this problem together?

I agree that the episode "Blackwing" was a bit confusing in regard to whether the killer in Nick died with Marion or if he took it back. I'm pretty sure that he took it back, because the friend of Gary Blackwing made mention of Nick taking it all back; and let's face it, Nick is too damn moral to do anything else. I also noted that everthing Tracy said was completely blown off. I think that everyone just thought she was stupid getting the Raven story of how he gave the world sunlight wrong. The Raven stole the sun from his grandfather, not his uncle.

I usually don't mind watching FK in reruns but this episode was so confusing that I just skipped it. Vachon's signature on the missing deed was awfully convenient and why would he let himself by seen on television? As much as I love FK, Nick's "guilt" is getting annoying!

Even after watching this episode about 3 million times, I still don't get it. Did Nick kill the people, or was he watching Marion kill people through her eyes?

I'm new to this series--this is only the fourth episode I've ever seen--but I'm hooked (or bitten, as you will). I had to watch it twice to make sense of who was killing and who was getting killed (especially in the Spirit Plane), since it was kind of foggy and ethereal, but after the second watching, it made sense. I agree with the others that Nick took back the darkness. My favorite line, from Nat, who is exasperated by Nick's joyous morning-after attitude: "You don't tan, you boil."

-- Stephanie Babbitt

I didn't care for this episode much. I believe Nick loves Natalie and he wouldn't be with some one else. Plus, I also think Natalie should have been mad at Nick for being with that Marian person.

I still haven't figured this episode out yet. It was a three minute plot stretched into an hour, and poorly stretched at that. I understand trying to bring out causes and issues, but this one was quite a stretch.

A good review of this episode. I have to disagree with you, though, when you say Natalie didn't seem jealous of Nick's relationship with Marion. She acts very coldly towards him in the scene where she is examining him. I believe she does know Nick and Marion slept together because she says "I hate to burst your morning-after bubble". I think she refuses to believe the possibility that he could be cured because she wanted to be the one to find it.

I agree that it seemed odd for Nick to be wearing regular clothes in the spirit plane. But what else could he have worn? I'm not sure he would look appropriate in ceremonial dress. I think he was dressed that way to show that the sun didn't affect him in the spirit world.

They definitely don't take Tracy seriously in this episode. At the beginning when she says the raven knife represents the sun, I think Nick and Nat should have reacted because that's what caused Nick's pain when he touched it.

At the end of the episode, I think Nick drains Marion of the rest of her blood. They show his vampire eyes to let the audience know this but he has to hide it from her uncle. After viewing this episode several times, I am still not sure who the real murderer is -- Marion or that lawyer guy. Maybe it's LaCroix trying to confuse Nick. (Ha Ha)

I thought that this was one of the best episodes I've seen! The viewer was supposed to be a bit confused -- at least until the clues started coming together. I loved it! This one gives me a rush everytime I watch it. I did find it confusing at the beginning, but then everything fell into place. It was great!

This episode was not as exciting as it could have been. The plot was a little lame with the only interesting focus is that of Marion absorbing Nick's murderous instincts. Maybe she absorbed a little too much grey matter out of Nick's brain as well. Nick, being the "brick" I have so often heard in reference to on the FK fan web sites, displayed this fine quality admirably.

The only part I enjoyed about the show are Natalie's one liners. She knew something went on, because I distinctly remembering a comment she made about the "morning after....." Nat usually hides her hurt behind cutting sarcasm which did get on Nick's nerves when she was trying to burst his euphoria. I think she was hurt when he was saying that maybe not having the "killer" inside (thus alleviating the guilt) was enough. Sure, Nick, you can have your cake and eat it too! Have all the benefits of being a vampire and not having to worry about making your lover into the main course! This was a good "I told you so" episode for Sir Knight.
