I agree about Trophy Girl. Too much Tracy. I get kind of tired of her whining and constantly pulling stupid stunts. But I guess it's because she is a rookie cop.
I liked the quick scene between Nick and Vachon. Does Vachon always seem distracted to you?
One more note. Did you notice what Tracy's "date" said to her about the Raven? I think he said something alone the lines of that the Raven was great for people watching, or whatever else they are in there. It struck me as a strange thing to say. Did he know about the vampires?
Lay off! It's ok to be bitter but that won't bring back the old characters so just sit back and enjoy the new ones. At least you'll get a good laugh out of it.
About Trophy Girl, we agree that it wasn't the best one of the new season... was that a take off on Silence of the Lambs or is it just us? Those pictures on the wall grate on my artistic sensibilities. Please tell me, what is Vachon's underlying accent when he says "Did that look totally weird to you?"?
Didn't love this episode, didn't hate it, at least it was there for us to watch.

I seem to be in the minority here, but I loved this episode! It had me laughing out loud at the great humorous exchanges between the characters. Nick was so easy-going and so much fun to watch. I loved the scenes with Vachon, especially when he realized abashedly that he'd blown Tracy's cover. I thought I was going to have heart failure when Nick got in trouble with LaCroix in the flashback, and I screamed out loud when I found out who Rosebud was. Tracy was well portrayed. I strongly disagree that she was hallucinating at the end -- the killer was trying to lure her to where he could catch her -- and Nick's life really was in danger (the killer was going to behead him). Overall, this episode is one of my favorites.
Too much Tracy. She definitely got the job because of daddy. This episode proves again that she can't figure out Nick is a vampire because she is a bad cop. Not only that, but it was clearly a cheap rip off of "Silence of the Lambs". This episode is not worthy of the cast.
I like Tracy, but let's face it: she should find a new job. She is a total air-head. She should have been fired for going under cover. She doesn't have the authority to send herself out on things like that, but yet she didn't even get in trouble from the captain. Please. I also can't understand why Nick yelled at Natalie for supposedly encouraging Tracy; all he said to Tracy was that she understood. That dosn't sound like encouragement to me. I laughed outloud for ten minutes straight when I found out that LaCroix was the psycho guy's e-mail pal. I should have figured it out by then but I hadn't. I liked the last scene with Nick and Natalie when Nick walked out arm and arm with Natalie. i dont ever remember him showing Natalie any affection in public before. I call that a little development in their relationship. very little.

I thought this episode wasn't too bad. I really liked the scene where Vachon flew into Nick's car and the ensuing conversation. Vachon doesn't seem to have much purpose in the series, except as "Tracy's Vampire" Does the captain get one, too? Its too bad because I like the character of Vachon and I like the actor. Nick doesn't seem to have much empathy towards Tracy. She did just kill someone...
I thought, and I still think, that Tracy is a bit of a flake, but that doesn't mean she's Toronto's answer to Barbie. Can any of us say that gruesome dead bodies wouldn't freak us out? Or that killing someone, even if self-defense, wouldn't mess with our heads? She pointed out to Vachon that she was a cop. I think she was finally developing a backbone, and trying to declare some independence. I loved her sarcastic "trophy girl". Even if she did mess up big time in going under cover without telling anyone, look at her role model. Nick is always doing things without consulting the people he should. She doesn't know that he's practically impossible to kill. At the end, it showed guts to try to escape, and resolve to kill the psycho, especially considering that she was still wracked with guilt from her first kill (and in a drug-induced fog).
(Urs was hilarious in the little bit we got to see her. A vampire ditz? She's weird; she seems stupid and angst-ridden and deep by turns.)
Did anyone else think that one or two of the women in Nick's drawings he showed to the psycho appeared to be Natalie or look very like her?

I agree that "Trophy Girl" wasn't the best episode of the third season, but it did have its standout moments. The first would be the humorous situation in which Vachon blew Tracy's cover and the comment she about putting that hypnotic thing in a holster. My favorite part of the whole episode when Nick was trying to convince the young and naive Yselle to leave the evil clutches of LaCroix, and then suddenly even he was overcome by the girl's "intoxicating" charms. The look on Nick's face as the girl was responding whole heartedly to his kissing her neck was priceless. It was like he was thinking, "Whoa, baby! You are one tempting entree!" Not to mention the kick the girl got when he actually bit her!

What a bizarre, meandering episode -- this season is not shaping up at all well. It seemed to be a cheap (and nasty) plagiarism of "Silence of the Lambs", an exercise that (plotwise at least) was particularly pointless! Nick, a former renaissance man, if ever there was, was portrayed as a vague, plodding, valium man; and Natalie, well, what can one say? Maybe she needs some valium! I have to agree that Tracy is a complete airhead and a hopeless police officer (maybe she should have kept the job at the escort agency). The only redeeming part of this whole sorry mess was the brief interaction between Vachon and Urs at the Raven. I live in hope that the rest of season three is better.
