Let No Man Tear Asunder

What did Nick say to Nat there at the end? He was talking about her knee being fine the way is was then he said something about body parts, but he was laughing and I couldn't make it out. I seemed a little like the actor was losing it.

Also, what's the deal with the water jug in the station? I think this is the fourth or fifth time we've seen the captain try, unsuccesfuly, to get water out of it. Is this an inside joke? I've also noticed that we always get to hear the new captain go on about how he just can't comprehend how the criminal mind works. Maybe he shouldn't be a police captain, if he can't understand criminals then how can he outsmart and catch them? Just a thought. Don't they ever write fresh dialog for him?

I loved how Nat (accidentally?) shoved the flowers in Nick's face while she was putting her coat on. And how she ducked that kiss as she went out the door.

It's about time that some show on TV addressed the issue of black market organs for transplant! The topic is almost too near to those of us who live in big cities. The urban legends of solitary travelers -- both tourists and residents who come and go at strange hours -- who just "disappear" are too many to count.

On the whole, the episode addressed the matter reasonably well -- although "dumping" the body back on the street was sloppy, sloppy. (After harvesting all possible organs for transplant, the body would never be seen again -- just another unsolved disappearance case). The path to finding clues of this going on would more realistically be that of a missing person, with the trail dead-ending to an inadvertent witness to the initial kidnapping (in this case, it would be one of the "street people" in the neighborhood). That would put Nick and Tracy on the trail of the doctors involved.

Selecting Natalie as a potential victim was reasonable because her family is not really in the local picture -- and because of her rare blood type. Tracy, on the other hand, is a very bad choice for that sort of "harvest"; the doctors in question should have recognized the last name since her dad is Police Commissioner and found some way to either misdirect her or shut her up without causing her bodily harm.

Dramatically, we now have another piece in Tracy's personal puzzle. Unfortunately, though, the pacing of the episode was a bit off, allowing a reasonable development, but too quick a conclusion (and come on, Nick and Tracy holding down an entire clinic/hospital -- some of whose staff was armed -- all by their lonesomes?).

I think Nick said something about a body parts hall of fame.

I think the subject of the episode was good... but let's face it, all these TV dramas have some kind of idiosynchrocy... it's "hollywood".

He said, "It's my personal choice for the body parts hall of fame".

Don't get me wrong, I love FK, but there's starting to be a certain sameness to many of the episodes, especially those in the 3rd season. It seems to follow the same pattern - there's some sort of grisly murder, the captain "can't understand" why anybody would ever want to do something like this, Tracy goes off on some kind of tangent as does Nick, and then, in episode after episode, either Natalie or Tracy is chosen, of course by sheer coincidence, as the next victim for the killer. Cue to Nick, who manages to add up the clues in the nick of time, fly off quickly and save Natalie / Tracy from a gruesome death. I love the series best in episodes shich continue the developing natures of the characters and their relationships to each other....(c.f. "Be My Valentine") I don't know...I just hope that LaCroix will get more air time as will Nick's ongoing tortured relationship with Nat alongside his quest to be mortal -- these are the reasons I watch the show, not to watch some mini-thriller about a serial killer....
